For decades, competition dancers have made the journey to Blackpool, a seaside town on the midwestern coast of England. It is here, in the ornate Empress Ballroom of the Wintergarden, they pit their talent against the greatest dance couples in the world. Held annually during the last week of May, the week long Blackpool Dance Festival appoints titles in the various categories, which carry the prestige of "British Open Champion."

Now in it's tenth year, the "Blackpool Project" is organized by the American Dancesport Organization to provide support and assistance for all North American amateur and professional couples competing at the Blackpool Dance Festival. This includes a welcome dinner party, complimentary for all competitors. In addition, the ballroom at the Imperial Hotel is reserved for the exclusive use of North American couples for practice and training from Sunday through Thursday.

The Blackpool Project is only possible through the generous support of its contributors. These contributors included many event organizers, vendors, foundations, organizations, and generous patrons.

You can show your support for North American dancesport competitors when they compete in the world arena. Your organization, event, or company name will appear on all promotional information, as well as posters at the event. All contributions are used exclusively for the project. Please contact the ADO for further details.
